We are a small friendly group of like-minded individu  als whom seek to improve and develop their skills and knowledge of tying flies. Therefore, whether you have never tied a fly before or you have tied thousands and just want to share some of your experience or refresh your enthusiasm there is a warm welcome waiting for you.
Capturing in words the thrill and the pleasures that we derive from dressing flies is for the serious anorak. In the following short paragraphs, we try to open the door to a wonderful world of insight and understanding that can only help each of us be a better angler.

If fly-fishing is a pleasure, imagine the joy of catching your first fish on your own fly. It is one of the great pleasures in life that eludes the majority. Because in these days of frantic fervor it is all so easy to run round in ever decreasing circles and find that you have expired. Then time has past before you take the opportunity and enjoy the excitement of the take, the thrill of playing the fish and the delight of landing that fish; all on a fly you tied.

As time moves on each of us gain a little more knowledge, a little more skill and are a little more nimble in the finger. This allows us to broaden our repertoire of patterns and then learn the skill of fishing that fly.

If fishing is a thrill then the ability to share knowledge with our young people the next generation of caretakers of our waterways is an absolute joy. Watching youngsters slowly convert from boredom and “I don’t want to be here it’s for old people” to excitement and disbelief as they tie their first fly is truly awe-inspiring. Even Mum was impressed, and the sons smile made a bright sunny day even more special as his smile radiated pride.
- The father whose six-year-old daughter was determined to tie a fly to catch a fish on the rod Dad promised to buy and teach her to use. The determination of the daughter was incredible and the dedication and support of the father was engraved in our memory.
